Each doctors office does things a bit differently. You should expect at the minimum a face to face meeting with your doctor to discuss pregnancy issues, and medical history (personal, family and husbands), and to answer any questions that you might have.
You will have a physical exam that will include an internal exam, breast exam, and blood work. They will do a pap, test for HIV/STD's, and check anything else that is in your medical history.
You will probably set up your appointments for the next nine months... I did that at my first appointment. If there are more than one doctor inyour group you will usually have the option of seeing all the docs at least once or just seeing your doctor (just FYI, its beneficial to at least see all of them, b/c there is no guarantee that your doc will be in the delivery room).
Hope this helps and congrats

You will go through a physical exam along with blood work. It's a very long visit, but they need to get alot of information....to be prepared you should know about your family's medical history and the father's history. Good Luck!

I had mine yesterday.
They ask you different questions about your family history, previous pregnancies (if any), get your weight, blood pressure, take a urine sample, and draw some blood. If you haven't had a pap done in awhile they may do that too, and depending on your doctor, give you a sonogram to confirm the gestation date.
