the area under my eyes is dark. i have tried different concelers but i can't seem to find one that actually hides the color. whenever i put on foundation or conceler it goes into the fine lines under my eyes and makes them even more noticable. does anyone know of a good way to put a product on so that it won't settle into lines and one that will actually get rid of the discoloration under the eyes?

To prevent your make-up from settling into the fine lines, make sure you moisturize or use an eye make-up primer first. Since under eye circles are usually dark or purple, a yellow based concealer works best. Many companies make concealer just for this area. When you apply it, pat it on until it's blended. Don't rub or over blend. Finish with powder to set it. Also, vitamin K, applied topically, has been shown to reduce dark circles. Mary Kay makes a great dark circle cream with vitamin K. I've used it and think it really works.

I have tiny undereye and crows feet lines and would recommend using an eye area moisturizer at night only. (do not use on eyelids).

Foundation first - then concealer.

Choose a foundation that provides good coverage with a high pigment ratio. Cream to powder, cake or stick. Apply and blend with a damp cosmetic sponge.

Then, if dark is still visible, use a yellow concealer, (potted or stick) lightly apply with 'pinky' finger, or concealer brush and blend with damp sponge. (You can even try mixing a little foundation with the concealer if the coverage is too heavy)

If your dark circles are more blue/vein, use a flesh tone concealer one shade lighter than your foundation with a little peach tint.

For most - the yellow tinted concealer works well. The key is a light touch and blend well.

Set foundation and concealer with loose powder.

The new illuminating powders help to scatter light and create the illusion of radiance which may help hide wrinkles a little - but don't overdo it.

For nighttime - You could also apply a little highlighting powder eyeshadow after you set your makeup.

hope this helps - it's just my opinion from personal experience.

The best undereye concealer by far is MAC Studio Finish Concealer! This stuff is opaque and it completely covers any darkness under the eyes. I have allergies and pale skin, so my dark circles are very noticeable. I've tried many different brands of concealer in the past to cover my dark circles, and this brand is the only one that will cover the undereye circles and still leave a natural finish. To keep concealer from settling into fine lines around the eyes, I use an eyeshadow brush to pat powder over the concealer to set it. This makes it last longer and keeps the concealer from creasing. Hope that this helps!

Avon has a treatment that you can buy for dark spots. I would try a colored concealer also before your normal concealer. No need for the foundation ,you already have you coverage.Try Anew Eye cream which helps shadows under the eye or Anew Cinical Laser system ( helps with Dark spots) You can get them at the link below

They have those compacts at the store that are powder of green, yellow and pink colors. It sounde weird but certain colors are better at covering darkness than regular foundation or consealer. You can also try a skin brightener lotion or cream. Many companies make them and are supposed to even out your overall skin-tone.

i like Laura Geller "Vanishing Act Duo Concealer". It has 2 colours in one compact which you would be able to combination (no longer purely decrease than eyes yet at mouth and nostril shadows too.) One compact lasts an prolonged time. i'm getting it from between the dwelling house procuring channels although that's in extreme end branch shops (greater fee-effective procuring at dwelling house inspite of delivery and dealing with.)
