I haven't been able to find this site I have heard about. I am wanting to know what animals are illegal in Indiana. Please if you have a link let me know.

Usually if you think a pet is illegal to have its because it is. But you can look on line at illegalpets.com and they will explain it.

in indiana, I can tell you this
There is a newer law that states you can't own anything that is native to the state, i.e. a painted turtle, certain salamanders, etc.
I'm trying to think of the website I found this....but if you type "indiana animal laws" in a search engine, or "indiana legal pets" (or 'illegal' for that matter) you should bring up the laws pertaining to this. By the way, what are you planning on?

Could you be more specific about the animal you're looking at? Most animals, if they are not domesticated or semi-domesticated are regulated by the USDA and you must have a federal permit to have them. Additionally, you may have local restrictions in your city or county which do not permit you to have specific animals, you'd have to look at your local legislation.

You didn't state WHAT kind of animal. If "wild" check with the DNR. If domesticated check with your local humane society/animal control.
