Unless there is blood, don't worry.
I hate to say this, but at this point, if that discharge were bad news, there would be nothing a practitioner could do to reverse it.
Obviously if you bleed very heavily or are in a LOT of pain, call your practitioner immediately. If you can't reach him/her, the ER can. A spontaneous abortion or miscarriage CAN cause you to hemorrhage (spelling?). Not common, but don't ignore excess pain and excess blood. You will know what is excess, more than discomfort and period "stuff".
That said, different people have different pain with pregnancy, among those pains are the stretching of the ligaments as the uterus grows, implantation pains (you are a little late for that). SO, people are DIFFERENT and pain is not indicative of something bad always.
Ironically, I am four months along and have a friend who is very early, around where you are, and she complained of the SAME thing last week, and it was old blood just making its way out:)
Good luck!

For your own piece of mind get it checked. It can be normal but also it cant mean a problem. I cramped at 5 weeks and miscarried at 7 but they could be totally un realated. Plus everyone is different. I have heard some women bleed throughout and get cramps and have healthy babys and some who have no simpton and miscarriage.
I dont want to worry you, just want you to be aware that anything your not sure about , speack to your doctor, they expect it!

You are probably ok but check with your doctor if you are nervous.
Some women get spotting right about the time their periods should be due. Some women get spotting when they over do it. Some get spotting after sex or an exam.

It's normal.
If you're concerned, call your OB (or family dr if you've not yet gotten an OB).
