By 3D game online, you mean like a multiplayer 3D game? Oh my, someone doesn't know what they're getting into. You need to know computer science, and a lot of math, as well as an understanding of the 3D rendering process and networking. If you've never programmed before, I recommend you try writing a Pong clone first, if you're good it will only take you 3 months :) Developing a game by yourself is a lot of work, have fun!

You need to be experience with Flash to have any real chance of making an only 3D game effectively. I suggest you get into learning how to use Flash MX, buy it and a book on game programming.

3D and Online reminds me of Adobe Flash, Flash would be the best solution for online graphics, but then how do you make it 3D ?
Easy there are several other tools like Swift 3D which can be used to make 3D objects for Flash.
The next best alternative is Shockwave, but sorry i don't know much about it, but you have to use Adobe Director for that !
(Earlier Macromedia now known as Adobe)

calling people computer geeks will not get you help.
You need to go back to school to gain programming experience. developing games is not a simple trivial task.
