They weren't White Supremacists... that was just the culture the lived in... it was wrong... but you can blame Thomas Jefferson that bad...
Why does everyone assume that the Southern United States was the only place to ever have slaves... maybe you forget that slavery is still real today in many countries... maybe you should do something about that rather than keep focusing on something that ended in the 1860's

Your question is wrong on som many levels, it's difficult to answer you.
They were not racists nor white supremicist.... they were slave owners. There is a vast difference.
Racisim is a faily recent term employed by those demanding equality amongs races and frankly, the term or the idea didn't exist until recent history.
They slept with their slaves simply because they were considered property to be used as they saw fit. Again, race or racism had nothing to do with it.

Once again, here we go focusing on why the whites did this and that to the blacks. Let's focus on the skin slaves of today. Or is that not important because there's other races involved. Let's concentrate on our men and women fighting in Iraq so that people like you can have the freedom to continue asking questions that keep the hate going.

It just goes to show you that love is natural and hate is not. Some of the white guys found black women attractive and slept with them.
I think racism has to do with a lack of respect for others. It is easy to hate what we do not respect. Having self respect is the first step towards conquering racism. Just look at Dr. King and what he achieved. Before he could bring honor to others, he brought honor and respect to himself.

Do understand that having sex with someone not of your race does NOT imply that you are not a racist.
White slave owners slept with their black slaves because they simply saw them as objects to be used. It was a way to assert their power.

The "slave owners" who slept with their slaves weren't the racist ones. That's assuming you are talking about the ones who had consenting sex.

i always wondered that. If slave owners really felt that blacks were only 2/5 human or whatever, then they were committing bestiality, which is really, really gross.
edit: oh, they were also condemning their own blood to a life time of slavery. which is really immoral
