I suppose that it contains carbs that can slow you down after the initial sugar rush. And maybe it is like coffee (ie caffeine) in that the initial stimulation then leads to feeling tired

Well, are you the one eating the chocolate ~ and are you feeling any of those things?
I suspect that it depends on the individual wherein, anything can make someone do / feel / be something not usually felt.
There was the woman in the States a few days ago who died from drinking water, and some years ago a guy in the UK died on having overdosed on 'carotene' ~ having been told that 'carrots are good for you,' and they are - when consumed within reason, just as is water.
'Vegans,' as I understand it, live on nuts. But there are those who have intolerance's to certain types of nuts......
Just don't overdose on chocolate.
Sash.

If you're not using it to replace major food groups, then no. As a supplemental to a normal diet, then it should make you feel happier, especially if it's dark chocolate. It's dark that's good for you and will help you release endorphins as well as easing period cramps (especially if you eat the 85%+ one). It's even good for the heart (though the fat in milk chocolate would negate that goodness!).
Munch away!

No, he's just worried that if you eat too much you'll get fat.
You should be careful - but the best person to judge the affect chocolate has, is you.

No it has been scientifically proven that chocolate actually stimutes 'happy hormones' in your body so it perks you up! Slightly odd if you are getting the opposite effect! Try another brand of chocolate?

Research this thoroughly before taking his word for it. Also, chocolate has a natural high in it, which gives you that lift. Tell him chocolate makes you horny. He'll soon stop stopping you eating choc! ;-)

Too much of any starchy food can make you feel lethargic - especially chocolate, try to eat more chillis to counteract this feeling.
