Why oh why oh why is the Great British public showing it's total lack of intelligence by watching that god-awful programme, Big Brother? It's just hype and simply bollock$, always has been.
Why do people become so obsessed about it? I watched it for about five minutes, when it was first shown, and thought "what a total pile of shite". Just can't see the fasination with it, and hope that someone could tell me exactly what it is that makes it such compulsive viewing. In my mind, it's just a showcase for desperate individuals to try and get themselves in the limelight.
Is it just another manifestation of "celeb fever" where you (not me) can fawn over these suckers and give them a nice big ego massage and give loadsof minety to teh producers by texting/phoning in?

Not me matey! I would rather be force-fed cow dung through a tube with my testicles hanging over a stove than watch that shite.

Good question! I know, Big Brother is an absolute joke! Especially the "celeb" ones - talk about z-list. The poor buggers are trying desperately to breathe life back into their long deflated careers!
Big Brother 8 is coming up I believe, and the contestants get more and more boring each year. But like you say it is a great money earner for channel 4. And that is their main concern. Unfortunately we live in a society of people who find this form of voyeurism exciting.

If you only watched '5 minutes' of the programme, then I don't really see that you can comment on the whole of it!
I also think this particular Big Brother house is full of useless 'has beens' who have nothing better to do than shout and abuse each other and whinge about food, all day.
I do put it on at different times of day, when there is nothing better to watch, just to see which loudmouth is to be evicted next! It is a pity they cannot all be evicted at once! (Might be a good idea Big Brother, why not try it?)
I don't ring in or text, as I don't believe in helping to fund these second rate programmes either, but I would not force my opinions on other viewers, who may like to watch.
Roll on the next X Factor! Now that's a different story!

My mind boggles as to what people see in this and other 'reality' shows when for the most part they watch people sleeping or sitting around moaning.
Also a large number of the viewers just moan about the programme but don't switch it off!!
I once had a flatmate who burst into tears because she missed an episode of Big Brother, that was enough to put me off for life.

Because human nature has developed an interest in other people's lives in an attempt to feel better or normal or something. A spin off of this is some people get a sense of self by belittling the need of others to this feeling of normality. Basically as humans, the intrigue can make you an idiot either way you look at it.

There are few issues that bypass mad about : they can see issues that they can't generally They experience extra useful, because they can seem at a persons' own existence without beeing observed They wish to confirm human beings how they are in man or woman i imagine it truly is it do not get me incorrect, i don't love it both

lol my OH made me sit through an hour of it... complete torture!!...
I actually watched some of last year's non celeb one and didn't find it that bad.. this one is disasterous though.
The very first ones were interesting because it was designed as a social experiement... the problem is that the producers are deliberately trying to choose the worst contestants and it doesn't work..

Yeah garbage. British TV shows over past 10 years have dumbed down intelligence and thought processes.

I watch it out of a vague sort of interest. Apparently so do several million other people. Thank heavens it's a free choice!

Different strokes dude. Everyone has different ways of entertaining themselves and you just have to look at the audience figures (or the number of CBB questions on here) to see that a LOT of people are interested.
Maybe you're just so much better than the rest of us, eh?
