Why did some of the castaways bring so many clothes? I mean, it was for a three-hour tour, right?

Only Thurston Howell III and his wife had a bunch of clothes. Skipper, Gilligan, the Professor, Maryanne and Ginger all wore the same clothes all the time. They were rich, so maybe they always took a lot of stuff with them. Oh, and they were always finding trunks and boxes of stuff washing up in the lagoon. ;-)

I can see "Luvvy" always changing clothes even to go from one store to another...LOL that was their thing. They probably always took excessive items...they lived excessively even in their "shack".
