Statehood, meaning to join the United States of America. If so, how can this be accomplished?

Actually, it is possible and has been done. Texas and hawaii were both sovereign nations before applying for statehood. There is usually a kind of give and take on both sides in such an endeavor, but a major step in achieving statehood is the citzens of a nation must vote for it.

Texas and California were both sovereign nations prior to admittance as a state. IMO it would be rather hard for another nation to petition for becoming part of the US unless they made a really good argument as to why this would be to everybody's benefit.
