Creditors in the US can only pursue a debt for 7 years.
I thought Laws were supposed to be equal.

because the government it just that...The Government. trust me i work for them and i found myself in Iraq....TWICE. just because they can make their own rules and if its not money in their pocket they dont care!

Creditors can pursue you until the debt is paid. A bad debt will reflect on your credit report until 7 years AFTER is is paid. Debt Collection agencies normally will quit trying to collect after a few years, but the debt remains due and collectible unless the company writes the debt off (this does not necessarily remove it from your credit report).

So your premise that "the government is the only entity in the US" is false.

because they are above the law. the government don't even have to pay back its own debts but if you owe the government you better watch out
