what do know about hafiz iranian poet?

hi. i like to know if you know hafiz or not? if yes please tell me how and what do you know about him.

I know Hafiz. I am an Iranian and he is almost the most important poet of Iran and one of the bests in the world. He is as good as Shexpir. His poems are so good, full of energy and meanings. And his poems are famous because they have a lot meanings and every one can understand sth.

Any serious university course in poetry of the 17th and into the 19th century offered in Europe, England or the US details Hafiz's influence. Influence that is logical as there were no "Western" poets really between those of Rome until the Renaissance.

Europe in the "Dark Ages" and Medieval times provided little in true poetry.

The German Goethe’s study of Hafiz and use of his methods soon had poets in the 1800's studying this Iranian philosopher-poet. Also the first translations of his works were into German
then into English and it was years before they were studied directly. One has to realize that in the thousands of books from the 19th century about poets, his name is in all.

But few in the West ever read anything by him until the last century. Hafiz provided the "road map" for the "modern" western poets.

Every student of classical German literature should have heard of Hafiz. The great German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe devoted a whole book of verse to the attemt to bring Hafiz' style to a contemporary German audience (Westöstlicher Diwan or West-Eastern Divan)

I love Hafiz! His poetry is so amazing! I was introduced to his work through a friend who also got me hooked on the poetry of Rumi. I don't know a whole lot about him but I do like his writings.
