You must not be going to Hollywood. Simon didn't like your singing? It's sad really. Although I'm still trying to figure out why this question has been posted in this section.

Because you think the show is gay ?!?! ... That's why it's here?!?! That makes perfect sense ..... NOT !!!! I think there are bigger issues at hand than to discuss whether American Idol is gay. Don't you care about the war? Or Bush sending my brother's and sister's back to the war zone? Get a clue girly, people are dying for our freedom and you're stuck on American Idol being gay.

So now you think that because you're a lesbian that somehow you have a free pass to insult anyone?

Hon, your use of the word "gay" is derogatory and juvenile. A television show is INANIMATE and therefore CANNOT be "gay!" It can't have a sexual orientation at all.

Until you grow up, don't make stupid statements like you have here. It's insulting to those of us with intelligence!

Yes, you did post this in the wrong section, it would have been better served in the "Entertainment" category.

I think they should come up with a "Battle of the Bands" sort of show (instead of the insanely lame Broadway "Grease" concept they're doing now). Think about it- there are a million people out there struggling to make their bands successful (versus how many independent vocalists?), and these people don't just have a great voice, they have great voices, the ability to play instruments, and original compositions. That's a lot of talent, or, in my opinion, more talent than what comes out of someone's throat. All an American Idol does is sing someone else's song with their killer voice. Not that they don't practice and work for it, but not as much as a band! Before the nineties swung along with 'bands' made up of people who didn't play instruments (N'Sync, Backstreet Boys, etc.) and solo artists who didn't either (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc.), there were people, either solo or in bands, who wrote their own stuff and sang it while they accompanied themselves with instruments. Real performers. Most of the songs I think of that I love are sung by bands- the classics, if you will. Let's do an "American Idol" theme with bands!

I think this would do amazingly well- the exposure would have bands pouring in, the original stuff would draw people in (versus yet another warbling rendition of "I Will Survive"), and there'd even be that element of drama between band members (as they get thinned out in later rounds)- the stuff that reality TV is made of. We could get real awesome rockers to be judges- the kings and queens of the industry (like Joan Jett- now that'd be awesome).

Seriously . . . will someone sell this idea to a producer, pronto?!?!?

I just like to see the most terrible people who think they can sing myself. The people who can sing bore me some of the time. So I'm a half and half on wheather or not I like the show. Some of the terrible people are so delusional in insisting they are good. U would think someone they know would say hey look singing is not your thing. It really shows how many liars there are in the world too in that concept.

American idol is fun on the one hand and educative on the other hand. Above all it has helped so many to build their careers in music. if u dont like a particular show on tv u simply stop watching and tune to another channel. Or are u under some form of durress to watch american idol. Also interesting is the sister show "so u think u can dance" its all so fabulous. Finally, here comes African Idol!!!

I dont fairly consider they must eliminate it considering the fact that within the very starting, the persons that suck at making a song are freakin humorous And Simon cowell constantly offers humorous coments Other than that Its a horny uninteresting exhibit

Well, I disagree with you. A lot. And so do millions of other people. So why don't you just watch something else, or read a book?

I've had crushes on two previous winners, too. (The butch fatale Fantasia and nerdy-cute Taylor Hicks. *sigh*)
