Dude, If you really, really , really want to stop you will, If you don't then quit lying to yourself and telling us that you want to quit. I do not believe that hemp is physically, addictive, but I do believe that people with the right personality types can become as psychologically addicted to pot as to alcohol. If you want to stop, then really get help and do whatever it takes to stop. If you want to convince someone else that you want to stop, then keep lying to yourself and them and keep doing what you want to do. I smoked cigarettes for 30 years and always said I wanted to stop, but I wasn't willing to do what it took until last year. I spent 30 years lying to myself and others about my habit and saying I wanted to stop. I was ADDICTED. Your question reflects the same behavior. Are you Addicted as well? Only you can answer that, but if I were to venture a guess, I'd say you have all the signs and symptoms. Have you really tried?
The definition of addiction is generally given as continuous chronic use in spite of adverse consequences. If for some reason you have really tried to quit because you felt a need to quit, then you failed, I would define that as continued use. If you have tried more than once to quit because for some reason you determined that you needed to, then I would define that as continuous chronic use. If you have had a need to quit (legal troubles, work drug screens, family troubles.... ) but didn't, then that is continuous, chronic use in spite of adverse consequences and you fit the definition of an addict for psychological purposes. As I said you must make your own decision, but if you really want to quit then you will do whatever is necessary to do so, Even if it means changing all of your friends and play places and going to AA or NA meetings

Wait till YOU want to quit for real. Don't do it for somebody else. Give yourself a date in the future that you will be smoke free forever. Give yourself time to get used to it. Then just do it. No special patch or gum needed. I do recommend you have gum around for the oral fixation though. For the first few weeks stay away from smokers or situations where you can't trust yourself. Don't drink for a while if you can't drink without smoking. Slowly introduce yourself back to the world of smokers little by little until it doesn't seem like you want to rip the cigarette out of their mouthes. Remember to breath deeply often, smokers don't do that as much and it is calming and is one reason smoking seems to make you feel better when you are aggitated. Have a plan for what you will do when the sh!t hits the fan so that you don't run out and buy smokes. Last of all, if you fall off the wagon, just let it be for that one night and never ever just feel like you should throw in the towel.
