I have had a lot of trouble finding any. In fact, I have two different maps I'm filling in with the shiniest I can find of each state. For every other release so far, I've come across more than I need, but I don't remember even seeing ONE from Illinois. If anyone has a couple sharp looking ones, I'd be more than happy to pay you to send them my way.

There were 463,200,000 Illinois state quarters minted. This is by no means rare, but in comparison to Virginia at 1,594,616,000 it is significantly less. It looks like there were many more coins minted in late 1999 and 2000 than in 2003 when Illinois was minted. Check out the link below for all the info on each state quarter.

There were 225,800,000 Illinois quarters minted in Philadelphia and 237,400,000 minted in Denver. They are not rare, but people have been hoarding rolls of all the state quarters, hoping to make a killing in the market. True, some rolls have shot up in price, only because there mintage is presumed low, when in reality they are not. When the quarter craze is over things will settle back to normal. Keep looking for they are out there. I live in the middle of nowhere, the North Country of New Hampshire and I have found them all so far, in change. The D mint marks are a little scarce around here, but the P mint mark is not.

Montana just came out about a week ago. There are only 9 more states to go. If you have only 29 you are a little behind. If you're missing anymore than the following then you know you have to try to track some down: Idaho Wyoming Utah Washington Oklahoma New Mexico Arizona Alaska Hawaii Hope this helps. If you're collecting you should get one of the U.S. map quarter holders. They help keep track of what's been issued and what's still to come.
