I often ponder this question myself, but I do believe that technology is going to be so great very soon that we will live 50 years longer than we are now. Im not sure how old you are, but once I had my son and saw him I knew why life was worth living, for that first moment I held him and felt the joy that it brought, that moment alone was worth the worst death imaginable. The idea is to live a great life and not to acquire things, or get as high up on the corporate ladder as you can, but to make your life so great and to touch so many other peoples lives that by the mere fact that you were there to positively effect someone elses life makes yours worth living. If people would focus more on helping each other than hurting each other this would be a much better place. The idea of living is like the new ipod, we get it down and pass on so much information that each new child that is brought into this world has the potential to be better than their parent, each year a new model comes out that is better. Anyways I am blabbing on and on, my point make your life mean something by having a positive impact on someone else. remember no matter who you are there is always someone watching your every move wishing they could be like you, know you, love you, you could be motivation to someone else whether you are doing something negative or positive......my point find someone who needs your help and help them make your life memorable......

Now that would depend on your religion or if you are an agnostic. In this plane of life you are in, it is beneficial to be a humanitarian towards others. It doesn't matter what religion you are, you will be rewarded when you pass on to the next plane or loop or reincarnation. Depending on your behaviours, you could for examples of different religions, go to purgatory, stay in the loop longer than necessary, stay in h*ll, go to heaven, reincarnate knowing more and being happier. There are so many relative points to consider in all, it is just better to live your life to its fullest and enjoy people. Always be humble, remember that someone is smarter than you, and someone is not as smart as you, and people do need help. Offer it to them. What you are going to lose is material things. You won't lose love.

Lets just say that the purpose of life is to find the purpose of life.

It would seem to me that on this road of life we seek to become all that we can be.

We can only get there if we work together to create a better life for all.

I feel that our purpose in life is to live together in peace, with trust & faith in each other.

Wars & distrust only set us back on our quest.

The way the question is phrased it sounds like you believe that material things play into who we are and our purpose.

I believe that my purpose in life is to be the best person I can be, to love others and try and learn all I can. I don't believe that the essence of who I am and all I will learn will disappear at death.

The purpose of the human life is to develop the inherent qualities of God in our souls. The loss of physical things is the best means for spiritual development.
