17 - 19 degree temperatures in the Sonoran desert ... Phoenix area ... is this the Global Warming that AlGore wants to spend billions of dollars researching?

My thoughts exactly. Nature will always balance itself out. Al Gore surely must get out in the fresh air more and clear his head of whatever he is smoking or ingesting.

His quest to go down in history for something/anything has scrambled his brains.

Oh well, Jimmy Carter has the same 'disease'.

First of all, do not be worried about the climate. It will do what ever it wants to regardless of what we do. It has done so in the past, and will do so in the future. I do not believe the founder is suing Al Gore. He mentioned it during a speech he was giving. Saying something and doing are 2 different things. No one can say whether this years weather is the start of colder weather or a break in the warmer climate. Let's hope it is only a short break. However, the sun is very inactive right now which is probably why it is colder. If the sun does not enter its 24th cycle soon, then we can expect continued cold (this is not good). As for global warming, it is true the earth is warming. It is a complete lie that we are the cause. There is no scientific evidence that we are the cause or even significantly contributing to warming. The global warming topic has now become a political issue, not scientific. Whatever you hear on TV these days is probably either not true, or embellished to make it appear worse. Enjoy global warming, for when the climate is warmer, humans and all life forms on earth have flourished. Things get bad when we enter a cold spell, similar to the mini ice age which just ended in the late 1800's.

It's evident why you are baffled: Your belief that your own tiny corner in the world is relevant for GLOBAL developments in CLIMATE (not weather) makes the whole issue of global warming totally incomprehensible to you.

I suggest you start by taking a basic science class to understand the difference between temperature and heat. They aren't the same.

By the way: Ever heard of the Alps? Guess what: They have barely any snow there this winter. But hey, they're not in the Sonoran desert, so they couldn't possibly be relevant, right? After all, the Sonoran desert IS the globe, right?

Global warming is junk science. Remember in 1975 and 1976 we had blizzards in the midwest. During the energy crisis I was off grade school for about a month because it was so cold. Time Magazine published an article stating that we were going into a mini ice age. But that didn't go anywhere in the press, so global warming was invented by the environmental groups. The press grabbed onto it and now Al Gore is doing a full court press.

Someone has published a rebuttal to Al Gore's movie and called it junk science. Weather has been changing on the planet for well before any of us were alive. So I have a hard time believing in global warming.

Al Gore invented the internet and KNOW that Zebra's have Spots.

That makes him an expert right?

Global warming is a farsity. First it was a mini ice age in the 70's, then there was a hole in the ozone layer in the late 80's early 90's which miraculously healed itself. Then there was the end of the world with Y2k. Now it is "Global Warming".

Some people will do anything to make a buck.

This is no more evidence of the absence of global warming than the unusually warm winter in the northeast is evidence that it is occurring. This short-sighted, only the present matters type of mentality is precisely what is wrong with the U.S.

Okay, I've had enough! I know Al Gore personally. So it is with this fact that I will attempt to defend his reputation (Cheap Trick did say "it was a fragile thing") although I am not an educated man so please excuse my ignorance before I begin.

I first met Al Gore on an Arctic Expedition that I was part of in May of 1991. He was then in the United States Senate and was only 'with us' for a few days. I have pictures as proof and have received Christmas cards from his/his family over the years.

Now onto global warming: there is physical evidence that global warming is a reality. It's winter now and I'm in Texas as I write this. In a few days I'll be able to walk outside in shorts and a tshirt because it'll be warm. In a few weeks I'll be able to put away my coat/jackets and start using AC again. By April I can personally guarantee that I will be able to stand outside, doing absolutely nothing, and sweat.

See how fast global warming is overtaking humanity! Are you stupid or what? The global warming crowd has been screaming doomsday since the 1960's although I wasn't born yet it is documented.

They said the polar ice caps would melt and New York City and Los Angeles would be under water by the year 2000. I call it wishful thinking but like Jesse Jackson I can only keep hope alive.

It's all about control. If enough people believe in this global warming malarkey then government gets to raise taxes more and spend more on nonsense. I outta know: my brother is a scientist at one of our national labs and you ought to hear some of the ways they're wasting your taxdollars.

They say that global warming is caused by ozone pollution coming from automobiles. The science behind this assertion is preposterous and all those purporting this conspiracy ought to be lined up and shot on sight. Ozone: if you know your science well, is a highly reactive compound.

Let me break it down for you. If ozone comes into contact with any other substance, even dust, it will react with that other substance and no longer be ozone. Do you still believe that ozone, at the ground level, travels 62 miles or so to the Earth's upper atmosphere without touching any other particles? Do you still believe in Santa Claus?

Al Gore hopes so. In fact, he's counting on you remaining ignorant so that the Demonrats are able to earn more votes and gain more control over your life than they already have. Are Republicans immune to this nonsense...hardly, some are just as ignorant.

Cows farting in a field have as much to do with CO2 emissions than anything else but Al Gore can't tax a freaking cow without you thinking he's absolutely lost his marbles.

Want another example? Remember freon. We used to put it in our car ourselves. Then the company with the least market share in the freon market lobbied Congress to outlaw it on the grounds that it was bad for the environment.

They then saturated the market with their product (with a minor chemical variation) that we put in our vehicles then. They had the greater market share until the competition decided to use their tactics against them. This is called legislated obselesence in case you never hear about it again.

Nowadays, we have no conclusive evidence that what mankind is doing is having any longterm effects on the environment whatsoever. But boring Al Gore can't help himself and neither can the rest of the nuts out there. The only science they can come up with is the same as the type of science they always refer to for their arguements.

It is incomplete science. In other words it's a guess. They tell you what they tell you so they can sell you what they want to sell you. By the way, Al Gore no longer sends me Christmas cards. He quit after I started speaking publicly about what a weirdo he is.

The people of his homestate, in their wisdom, chose his opponent over him. But instead of focusing on the facts Al Gore (and liberals) like to point the finger somewhere else and make up stories that are believable to enough people to win another election.

When was the last time a major Presidential candidate failed to carry his homestate? Al: I rest my case. See you around - EK

There is no snow in Moscow, Russia . Up until mid December no snow in many American ski resorts, no snow in a number if European ski resorts. Your comments are an inadequate sample and not a valid projection. last year we had the hottest and driest year in record in Texas. Yes Global Warming is happening.
