you can't reduce it, its a matrix keeps growing and growing. Only thing is to use war but that involves killing. The world still has a lot of empty space that is unused, its only cities that are populated, live in the country or outside the city and you won't find it to populated.

I think the best way to control not only our nation's population but the entire world's population is to STOP CONCEIVING and start adopting children.
The fact that scores of children (I cant even imagine the number) are languishing in orphanages is not news to us. Whose responsibility are they. Are they not the responsibility of the Society. We cant ignore them. Dont we know that a large number of criminals come from such deprived and neglected environment. We are in fact nurturing crime. Is that SIN not attributable to us.

When there is a problem we tend to find a solution and then we try to implement that by trying to force it on the other person.

Why do we forget that after all the evolution of human beings started only with a handful or may be two of them. We need to realise that any kind of implementation should start from our own house. We must inculcate individual responsibility and prove ourselves as an example to the society. We need to shed our parasitic attitude and start living for others enabling harmony among all living beings.

I am still a bachelor. I am concious that I might face some stiff opposition within my family to such an idea but does it seem such an impossible thing. I am aware that many NGO's are working for the upliftment of these children but imagine the result of such adoptions. We can reap benefits from all the corners of life.

I sincerely wish that the ALL MIGHTY gives us the strength, spirit and determination to work and progress towards the betterment of humanity.

the biggest problem to making a law for giving birth to only two children is what if someone gives birth to three.

there is such thing as triplates. and if anyone gave birth to triplates then the law would run into a brick wall.

my idea educate people about aids and definately do not find a cure. Make sure people Understand how to get aids and let the people decide for themselves

Firstly: No, I don't agree that forcible restrictions on the number of children in a family will reduce population. It can only be accomplished through education; in generating an understanding and consensus that society would be unable to cope with a population growing at such phenomenal rate.
Secondly: Should society be very serious in restricting the number of children in a family, a law could be passed that all families of over ** children will have to vacate whatever property within city or muncipal limits and go to the outskirts of the state to land which will be allotted by the government. This would be the greatest deterrent.
Should this law be passed I for one with my 5 children would surely be shunted right to Antartica.

I hope you are not talking about the US social scientist have stated that every nation needs each women having 2.2 children in order for that nations population to remain the same right now most of the industrialize world like Europe and japan are actually losing population.
This is not a problem in the third world. It appears the secret to reducing any countries population is to educate the women.

China tried that, reduced the population but now there are thirty men to one woman. Parents practiced a modern version of infanticide by aborting females, which are typically less desirable in a reduced population scenario. The current generation has no aunts, uncles, sisters or brothers.
The competition for mates will lead to a great deal of social upheavel and poaching mates from other societies.

Need a few more wars and conscription, that is natures way of culling the herd.

every baby born should be locked in a meat cooler for an hour after birth. THe ones that live are strong enough to survive. The ones that die are made into a fine tasting stew for the other babies to feast on.

our country definitely has to control the rate of growth of the population. this can be effectively achieved by pretty simple approach. if we look at the case based analysis those states with higher literacy rates have successfully implemented the family planning programs. kerala and tamil nadu for instance are doing reasonably well. higher literacy rates among the women is the most effective population control method. not by forcible sterilization or by punitive actions which could only backfire. nature is also aiding us rather mercilessly, with falling sperm counts among men in reproductive age group. just teach them how to read and write.
