I want to join networking course, but before that i want to know more about network (Types of network, network design, most used network,) Please help me.

First you join the basic course in the networking then you go for the advance in the networking because first only if read you wont understand the terminology of the networking so better you join a good institute and you will know which book to buy or the institutes recommends the good authors books .

Data Communications and Networking by Behrouz A. Forouzan

These books will give a complete overview of Networking.
