Buy Dell. Great customer service and laptops. Gateway sucks.

I love the look that Gateways have. The blue lights and overall simplicity make them very attractive, especially if you opt for the "Platinum" editions.

They are excellent computers for the money and they will last a long time when they are taken care of. Reliability is great and all my hardware function perfectly almost a year after purchasing my notebook. I have 5 friends with Gateways, their machines are for college, ranging from computer engineer software users to simple movie watchers.

Gateway support does exist, but I suggest you do not do it over the phone. I have found it easier to contact them through their website, which is very surprising.

They've always got great deals but the model lists of computers can be long and you have to know what you're looking at to realize the value that they are.
