My husband and I just got this car in July and have noticed something strange about it. Whenever we go out and start it after we have cleaned the snow off of it the rear hatch open light comes on. Does anyone on here have an Aztec and does this happen to you? Is this something that is normal for this vehicle or should we have it looked at? I would appreciate your help on this strange happening.

If you find the sensor for the rear hatch (normally in a button shape some place the hatch comes in contact with the rest of the car when its shut) and then press the sensor down like the door is shut if it still says it open then there is a bug glitch or break in the system but if it shows it as closed then its just a matter of the door not hitting or tripping it when shut this might at least let you start to know if its the wiring or the door its self that's the problem

In the electronic department at Wal-mart/Target or similar, you can purchase a CD player cleaner - several different brands. Try one or more; if it doesn't work, you are not out a whole lot of $$. If the above does not work, and it is not likely to work; you are either going to spend a LOT of money, or not listen to CDs in your Aztec. Rather than spending a LOT of money, trade in the vehicle on a a new vehicle with a new CD player with a warranty.
