You seem to have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Best to talk to your GP before taking any other medication.

I took St. John's Wort a few years ago on the recommendation of my therapist at the time. In my opinion, it wasn't worth the effort. It took about 3 weeks for it to accumulate in my system enough to have a noticeable effect, and the effect it had was not very significant. On the plus side, there were no side effects. To be fair, I have a firend who swears that St. John's Wort saved her life during her freshman year of college. One of the big problems with herbal medications is that their effectiveness varies from person to person. Personally, I had better results by taking a hot bath every day and going for a weekly massage for about the same cost.

As a qualified Herbalist, I can tell you that conventional medicine and Herbal Medicine do NOT mix. It's a case of either or I'm affraid.
There are too many interactions between herbal medicines and conventional drugs, that is why it is not recommended to take both.
