what kind of books do you like?
Twilight
New Moon
The Looking Glass Wars
Blue Bloods
Harry Potter ( all of them )
I find Anne Rice a chore to read and not as interesting as I hoped.

Since I don't know your age I'll recommend in 2 categories.
Adult - "To Kill a Mockingbird", "Uncle Tom's Cabin", "1984" and anything by Orson Scott Card. The 1st 3 did'nt become classics by accident.
Young Teen - "We Free Men", "Fablehaven", "Leven Thumps"
I read "Coma" when I was 13 and LOVED it even though it's considered an adult book.

Seriously, I'd highly recommend Stephen King's Dark Tower series, or The Stand. Those are two of my favorites of his stories. The Dark Tower, as a whole, is seven books. That should keep you busy =]

If you favor contemporary murder mysteries, I would strongly encourage you to select anything written by James Patterson, John Grishim or Patricia Cornwell.

The last book that I read was The Five People you Meet in Heaven. It was a great little book, not a lifetime commitment.
