Major in Physical Education with an emphasis on highschool or college level coaching and a minor in psychology... be sure to take industrial, organizational and health psychology classes... they are directly related to your job!

Besides the obvious choice of athletics, I would take psychology, management and business courses as well. No only will you have to deal with the actual sport, but working with players (psychology) and managing a budget and supplies (business and management) would be helpful.
