nt much you can do honey i had it last year and could not speak at all and even ice cream felt like it was burning my throat, try drinking warm honey and lemon, eat dry toast I no this will hurt but will scrape away some of the infection, Ice cream is another great one as soothes the heat. or try smoothies cos you wnt feel like eating take ibufroren with the paracetamol it reduces the swelling or try kodcodemal it is very strong so suggest you stay at home the first time you take it made me feel drunk and sick (so didn't agree with me) if you are worried about missing work get your parent to phone the school for any work you can do at home, and you should be back at school within a week. hope you feel better soon

Not much you can do really, for symptom relief try gargling aspirin (as long as you're not asthmatic or have any other contraindiction to aspirin) also keep up with the paracetamol and take ibuprofen to as its an anti inflammatory. Other than that strepsils will help to lubricate your throat.

A bowl of menthol fumes to breathe in if your ears/ nose are blocked. Suck plenty of sugarless sweets and drink plenty of liquid. Keep as warm as possible at night to sweat it out, and once on the mend a good hot curry with plenty of garlic.
That's my remedy!

Cloraseptic spray might help you. It has a temporary numbing medicine in it.
