I have a new pc with google already installed. I use yahoo so is it safe to remove all of google and just use yahoo? also I would like to install firefox instead of using IE6. The main reason behind removing google is the news program I saw that showed where google records everything you look at and type on your pc. And no I don't have anything to hide It's just that if I had not watched the news I would have never known they were doing this. also; I'm getting tired of the hourglass that pops up every minute. Thank you for any response.

If you mean you have Google's main page (http://www.google.com/) installed as your start page, yes, you can change the start page in Internet Explorer by clicking Tools, Internet Options and then type the address of your desired web page (or click the "Use current" button). If you mean you have Google programs installed (such as Google Toolbar, Google Talk, Google Video, etc.), you can uninstall them using Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. You can remove previous searches made with Google Toolbar by clicking the search box in Google Toolbar and then clicking the "Clear History" link in the list of previous searches. If you mean Google Search History, log in to Google, and remove your searches (of course you need to have a Google account to be able to save your searches using Google's servers). If you mean your previous searches you see when you start typing a new search in Google, then you should know some web browsers save your searches using form history. Your web browser may also save copies of the pages you have visited known as cache history. Your web browser also may have a history function where you can see which pages you have already visited:

As far as I know Internet Explorer is a main part of Windows and can't be removed or it's difficult to remove or at least can cause problems if you remove it. But you can install other web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Opera by simply going to the web site (http://www.mozilla.com/ or http://www.opera.com/), and clicking a link or image with the word "Download". Make a note where you have downloaded the installation software in your computer, then run that installation program and new icons should appear on your Windows Desktop and on your Windows Start menu (depending on your installation settings).

If your connection to Google is slow, your ISP (Internet Service Provider) may have problems connecting to Google in which case you may want to connect your ISP.

Or maybe you have spyware or a virus that is causing slowness with some sites:

Also, a full browser cache may cause various problems, so try emptying your browser's cache:

What do you mean by 'remove all of google'? Google and Yahoo aren't some sort of software that can be removed or used in your computer.
