iPod is an Apple product.

It will play mp3 files. Other companies make mp3 players, like SanDisk.

All iPods are mp3 players, but not all mp3 players are iPods.

An IPOD is a brand of an Apple MP3 player. An Mp3 player basically plays music. BUT if you get an IPOD you can store photos, music, movies and videos on them depending on what kind you get. IPODS are a little more pricier than other Mp3 brands because they store more than just a regular Mp3. BUT there are also other brands out there that do the same, but IPOD is a popular name from Apple. The question is: what would you use more?

Apple developed and popularized this type of mp3 player under the name i-Pod. They're very fashionable, don't have many features and are restricted in terms of software. They are reasonably well-made, but generally if they break it's a case of throwing them away.

Other companies.sell machines which are well made and have far more features than all but the most expensive i-Pods for a fraction of the price. The generic machines don't need proprietary software -- the tunes just copy across like any other files on to another drive.

I generally import mine direct from China. One firm I've bought from several times are www.uxcell.com -- top of the range model will set you back about $50. No problems. There are plenty of other companies, too.

An i-pod is a brand of mp3 player although i-pods do store other things than music such as photos, calender & adresses. You can find mp3 players that do the same as i-pods at cheaper prices but i-pods do have the best quality.

An IPOD is a brand of mp3 player. Just the same that Kleenex is a brand of tissues or Band-Aid is a brand of bandage

iPods are made by apple and the songs are downloaded in a different file type. Mp3 players aren't made by apple and are just as good, less expensive and the songs are downloaded in a different file type from ipod songs.

Ipods are mp3 players, and they just hold more songs and also play videos, therefore they are more expensive. Ipods are also name brand. Its just preference.
