Is this the kind of crap they teach at school nowadays. What ever happened to reading Shakespeare and interpreting the meaning. And how on earth is a child supposed to produce something they don't have a computer application to do so. Worrying.

If you are doing a school project you should try using a school computer - does your school provide access to computers at lunchtime or after school. Your school should have the software you need available.

If this really isn't possible you could use just about any piece of office software by using a suitable picture as a background (freefoto.com is good) and then using clip art images in the foreground. It may not be quite as good as you wish but should work fine for what you want. You could do this in a word processor, with presentation graphics - just about anything that will let you do simple image handling. If you use Word you could use Callouts, which are in Autoshapes on the Drawing toolbar as speech bubbles to show what the characters are saying - if you need to justify your choice of software you could say your choice was for this facility (just a thought).

If you are doing a relevant play (you don't say which one you are studying) and your school has the software then I would recommend that you try Kar2ouche. The software has the characters from various plays and backgrounds that can be used for the kind of thing you want to do. You don't need to know all the things that the software (which is actually quite powerful) can do in order to get a good result. The Kar2ouche web site might be worth a look to give you some ideas anyway.

I think it's better if I give you the links, rather than me doing a cut and paste job and claiming it all to be my own work, so here you are, I'm sure that all the information you need is in the links.

No Paint Shop Pro? Go download it. I think you can use it for 90 days.

I am not sure what a "blend" is, but there are certainly pictures of Shakespeare around the web.
