It has been a while since i had one and it was before the "downlaod age"

But when i did have one the lead i had was designed to go in to the back of my hi fi and into the mini disc so that i could copy Cd's - I am not sure if, given the nature of a mini disc over a flash / hard drive type devise like an MP3 or an ipod, if you will be able to down load in the same way

If there have been updates, then it is likely that they are no being supplied with USB type cables that would allow for themini disc to be recognized as a removable disc drive on the computer and the format would be similar to that of an MP£

You will need a usb cable and software such as Sonic Stage. You need to plug your minidisc player into your pc and start up sonic stage. If you already have music on your pc it should sync up. Its been a while since I have done it but its the same principle as downloading from say Limewire to an ipod into itunes. you have a saved file the downloaded music goes into when its downloaded, then use your default music player to transfer the music to your minidisc. On the overhand if you are ripping from a cd you just pop it in the drive open the minidisc software and just a matter of selecting tracks and away you go.
