A healthy baby starts breathing right from the delivery, on washing and putting into warm cloths a baby should start breast feeding. Be care immediately after the delivery feeding from the mothers body stops and he/she needs breast feeding. Do you know a man can live healthy only by milk feeding?

ASAP!!! As soon as baby is cleaned up and vitals checked, it is recommended to try to breast feed. I was fortunate that my son latched on right away...kinda like he had been doing that for days before birth. However, not all babies are that way, so you may have to work at it for a while, but don't give up right away...it's a wonderful experience!!

The hospital staff will usually bring baby in at first feeding.
They will instruct you on the proper proceedure for breast feeding.

Congratulations. Have a Happy healthy baby and good luck to you.

As soon as the baby is born, some doctors place the baby directly on the mother's breast. You can start now.

Don't let any bully doctors/nurses take your baby from you (unless he needs first aid). Put your baby on the breast as soon as you're finished looking him over, while he's still naked! Your birth coaches (husband, doula, mom, friend) can be in charge shooing away medical staff who want to measure, poke and bathe your baby. The nurses can wait. I hope this answers the question.

I breastfed my daughter about 45 minutes after she was born! As soon as the doctors are done cleaning up from the birth and checking the baby's vitals, you can start breastfeeding :)

The best time to start breastfeeding is right after birth. It helps develop a bond between the mom and baby.

As soon as they are born, my last baby was nursing minutes after birth. The longer you wait the harder it might be to get him to latch on so it's best to do it as soon as possible to help with bonding. Good luck!

Right away! If placed on mamas chest right after being born, the baby will naturally root around to find the nipple and latch on. So cool!
