My 9 1/2 month old is doing most of those things too, and last night had his first steps... so of course that means our kids are brilliant, right? haha...
But I do notice other things that other kids have been doing longer. For example I know other babies who were pointing at 6 months or so, and my son has only just started that. I know kids who were signing several words at 6-7 months, mine has 3 signs, but sometimes forgets them.
So the point is that there is a broad spectrum of ages when babies start doing things, and she may be totally advanced in some ways, and "behind" in others. Just continue to do what you are doing, it sure sounds like she's thriving!

I've read a lot of different studies on early childhood development and there seems to be no correlation between early motor skills and intelligence as some people are suggesting. Some babies are just interested in moving around, some in sitting and playing with toys, some watching people around them. Also it depends on the weight of your child, ie thinner children are more able to accomplish things like getting themselves into a sitting position sooner. I am sure your daughter is developing normally. I think it is a little premature for people to say that they have a baby genius on their hands. These days it seems every second baby I hear about is advanced in some way or another.
Every child is different. My son is almost her age and is doing all of those things except talking, he still can only say mama or dada or mumblings! I am totally fine with that though! He is doing so great in other things that I know he is developing at a good pace. It's great that you are really involved in what your baby is doing! Keep up the good work!

Not most, but some, all babies advance at their own rate. My daughter was saying more than 4 words, attentively looking through books, and even trying to use pencils (when she wasn't putting them in her mouth) when she was between 9 and 10 months. She was pulling herself up, but she really wasn't trying to walk or stand on her own. She didn't stand on her own until she was about 12 months and didn't walk until she was 14 months.

As a baby I walked when i was 9months old, my mother said it was due to her having me do leg excersized every day. She would have me stand on her lap, and she would hold my hands, and then when my legs would bend she would just lift my arms a little and that way, you make the muscles strong. My sister also walked at 9months of age. Every child does things on their own time. My boyfriends sisters' baby only started walking at two years of age! Great going. With enough stimulation, any baby can develop faster than other children without that stimulation. Congrats on your smart baby. Seems like you've done a fantastic job!

My step-daughter was walking at about 7 months, but I think it has something to do with girls aging faster. My step-daughter is 12 now and she is well above average in school. I think if your baby is anything like her you'll be in for a pleasant surprise. Keep challenging her it will always keep her ahead.
