Since Missouri has "Jessica's Law,"which takes sentencing out of the hands of "Vermont"minded judges who turn child molestors back to their homes in weeks or months, why hasn't this individual been charged with it? There is far too much "wiggle room" in the conviction of a kidnapper, unfortunately.

I live in the St Louis area and all the news channels say more charges to be broguht forth , which means they are holding him for kidnapping while they investigate other charges and put the entire case all together. Wouldn't want a tech error freeing him, the feds and the different jurisdictions will file. You have 3 counties directly involved, st louis county where they found them, the counties both disapeared from, and then there is the feds

They had to bring a charge against him in order to hold him with a serious enough charge to make the bail high enough to assure he would not be able to make it. At this time they can charge him with the kidnapping of Ben.

However, it is not over just yet. By the time they get done, there will be a multitude of charges brought against him.

There's probably not enough evidence to bring those charges.
