BT Voyager 220v. It loses the internet connection all the time. It must cut out about 5 times a day and I have to reset it to get it working. Phoning India just results in a run around, in which I am patronised. I'm not a total idiot. I know the thing is set up alright. I'm convinced it is just rubbish. I want a new one.

I would tell them to send a technician to fix the problem and get another router for the time the tech guy arrives, to show the difference of performance from the one you got and the one they have provided. If that doesn't help, I would have this service supplied by another company and fill a complain's form about this company at the Better Business Bureau, and ask to have my money returned because I didn't have the service promissed by them...You are not paying to have your connection lost while you are surfing in the net, plus a wireless connection from a neighbor, seems to be more efective than the one offered by this internet provider.

I left BT because of exactly the same situation you describe. The guys at the call centre do not even record the fact you have called or call you back. They just say anything to get you off the phone. Leave them. If they have you under contract, say you are leaving for failing to provide the contractual service - worked for me.

dont you mean Bombay Telecom lol, yeh I had a problem a few months back with my microfiiter took me all day to sort out with Bombay...opps BT used the online helpdesk and they kept butting in and not giving me chance to run all my checks first really annoyed me, anyway sorted in the end but very frustrating when you cant understand what they are saying.

Oh My God! Do you know how much trouble I had with BT trying to connect to the internet and I have spoken to so many people who have also had problems with them. My problems went on for weeks and weeks and in the end I gave up and went elsewhere. Their customer services is appaling and just makes you even more angry and frustrated. I would give up with them if I were you for the sake of your own sanity!

keep ringing and complaining, threaten them with reporting to trading standards, had the same problem, got fed up, told them I was reporting them to trading standards, Watchdog and local radio, they did send someone out, and it was traced to an earth fault in the junction box where the line comes into the hous.

Check out the 1979 sale of goods act dealing with durability.
http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk will have the info you require. The goods must be fit for the purpose............., and if they are not...................BEAR IN MIND IT MAY NOT BE THE ROUTER.
