There is to no point to the madness. That's where this ******-up capitalist system fails. Happiness comes from those very things that we are neglecting by working crazily for that nice TV, that bigger house, etc.... i.e. from our relationships with our family and friends, from being outside with nature, by enjoying our children and our elderly... money can't buy any of that, but earning it can sure take our experiences of those away.

Happiness ultimately comes from within.
Money dosent make you happy but fincancial security does relieve financial stress. If you make more and you spend it wisely and dont go crazy and simply buy homes and cars that are good but not using every last penny on it,then youll be a little happier because youll be able to aford time off work,go on vacation. Instead of going to work no matter what the situation.
Someone making 100k/year can be just as in debt as someone making 30k/year. Its allin how you spend it.

Money provides security, not necessarily happiness. In order to be fulfilled/happy most would think that we would follow Maslow's hierarchy of needs. We all have needs, from basic needs to more spiritual. It is when these needs are met that are we truly happy.

- Money doesn't make you happy, but neither does being broke.
- Money may not make you happy, but it simply creates more options for you to spend time doing things or with people that make you happy.

True happiness comes from within yourself. If you like what you do, where you've been, where you are going in your life, and enjoy the people who have traveled or are traveling with you, then that's happiness. My definition anyway.

Lets put it this way....
Not having money leads to things like eviction, hunger, cold, having your car repoed, and nasty phone calls from credit card companies who want to get paid NOW.
Money does not automatically make you happy, but not having money can really make your life stink.

Happiness is a bi-product of love. Not sexual lust; but love for one another as human beings.
When you experience true love, nothing else in the world matters.

Happiness comes from contentment. Whether you have much or few, if you are satisfied within yourself you will be happy.
