I have had a problem all my life with this - I seem to have a sleep disorder! there are so many incidents that I can't choose just the one so here are a few:
On stage, standing in the wings just before my big entrance, when I was playing the lead role. I was prodded awake by the director and I had no idea where I was!
In a history lecture at university - we were sitting in pews and I woke up with my forehead smacking off the ledge in front of me and a hall full of people staring at me, jumping up to see if I was ok and trying to carry me out (they thought I had fainted),
Waiting in reception for a job interview - they had to wake me up when it was my turn (I didn't get the job).
In the bath - which I did frequently - but this time I woke up drowning! (I only ever take showers now.)
In front of a classroom full of pupils - I fell off my chair! (I don't teach any more).
As a result of my sleep problems, I was sent to a sleep study clinic and guess what - I never slept a wink the whole night!

In the washroom... seriously.
There was once I had a really late night and i had to go to work the next day. I was practically falling asleep at my desk so i went into the washroom locked myself in one of the cubicles, closed the toilet lid, sat down and took a quick 20 minute nap. Fortunately, the office washroom was pretty clean... and no one suspected that i had passed out or something!

Behind the wheel of my car. I was driving on the major bridge in my city where there were roadworks and the lanes were narrower than usual and there were blockades on either side. I swear I thought I was awake until I opened my eyes again. I was on my way back from a three day music fest. I didn't hit anything (thank goodness) and it was only for a split second but it really, truly scared the bejesus out of me.

On the sidewalk in front of the Field Museum in Chicago. I was waiting in line to get King Tut tickets when the exhibit came to Chicago in 1976 or 1977.

On the floor of a stage, in a heavy metal club, with my head resting against a speaker! When I did finally wake up (after my friends covered my mouth and pinched my nose, because they couldn't get a response from me any other way!), I was covered in bruises and the ringing in my ears took 3 days before it went away!
Ahhhhh, THOSE were the days!...
