I believe MLK would have been disappointed in Jesse Jackson and Al sharpton. They seem to simply foster anger and resentment. An anger and resentment that keeps them in power. I personally feel that these two help keep the black population oppressed in our society due to these unsavory tactics.
I think MLK would be most proud of Bill Cosby and Roy Innis. These men strive to educate and shout,"Stand up!". Bill Cosby stresses the value of education and he inspires me as a white American.
As for those who shout reporations I say to them that I am a white American that has received no more than they have from there ancestors slave labor. I have missed out on the same great minds that went to wasre working in the fields. The same great minds that could have been authors, theologians, doctors, and teachers.
I have received the same benefits they have the only difference between a black male and myself is that I haven't been oppressed as he has. This is something I have stood against throughout my life even as a child growing up. I have physically fought blacks who were my friends that were swayed by others not to like me because I was white. I have physically fought white friends because I had friends that were black. I continue to stand my ground.
We are different in culture only. Afterall every human being is somewhere between dark brown and light brown.
I'd love to find a forum where I could freely express ideas and feelings with whites and blacks. A place that was acceptable to say things and not worry if they were twisted. A place where I could speak as could they and discuss misinterpretations and or misconceptions. We are all Americans and United we stand but divided we fall.

I think that if MLK were still alive, many of the black "leaders" of today would be nothings. In particular, I am thinking of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. I think he would not be please with the way they have created a rift between blacks and whites rather than bringing us together which is, I believe, what King wanted.
I think he would be ashamed of the black community. They have squandered their opportunity to achieve so much more than their grandparents and great grandparents could have dreamed of.
I think he would be well pleased with people like Barrack Obama (though I can't stand him) and Colin Powell and Condi. I think he would be tickled at how many black families are working, buying homes, cars, sending their kids to school with the intention of making sure they have a better chance at life.
All in all, I think he would be pleased for the most part.

All strikes of civil revolution have leaders at the back of them, who're truly scuffling with, speaking, instigating for a freedom from oppressions. So if there replace right into a flow there could have been a guy or lady interior the placement of whomever did exist. without lots of those strikes and leaders slavery might have on no account been abolished and you have had some black lady typing this question out for you. regrettably, your hands might desire to try this slave hard paintings. attempting to make slavery humorous is a puzzling and risky in case you care that some one will think of you're racist. Which i'm down with whites and blacks, purely pinks might desire to be loose to paintings and stay as they have the liberty to. way off subject count number, yet i'm beneficial you got it. Your welcome. Take care. Josh.

Great question.
I think MLK would be justifiably proud at how far Blacks have come as a group since his day. But I think he would be appalled by many things that are happening to African-Americans, such as:
1. How many have come to believe that their opportunities should be given to them...not earned.
2. How many are fighting to segregate themselves from society, rather than integrating, which was MLK's dream.
3. How education has become devalued...even scorned by so many.
4. The horrible rise in single parent families.
5. The tragic rise of black-on-black crime.

Doctor King preached tolerance and self reliance. He appeared to believe in pride and responsibility. He envisioned a world where people worked together and showed respect to each other. I think he would be very happy by how far we have come as a society, but I also think he would be very distressed by those who still seek to divide using race. Especially those who do so and invoke his name when preaching their divisive positions.

I don't think he would have been so judgemental as to separate them publicly, good and evil, but I do believe if he were alive they would be very different.
Of course, no one would be so good as the King.
