Garnet is a family of many minerals, it can be red, brown, orange, yellow even green!
The reason is the substitution of atoms in the General Formula of Garnet Family (I don't remember it !)
but I know that the garnet family includes minerals such as : Pyrope, Andradite, Spessartite, Uvarovite and Grossular.
