Hot water wash, hottest dryer setting. The heat is what shrinks them, but they will only shrink so much.

Agreed.Wash hot, dry on the hottest setting will shrink a quarter of inch up and in. You may have to do more than once. I have.

when I was a teenager, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, there were only Levi jeans and they were as stiff as a board
what we used to do is wash them in the bathtub, in hot water, with lots of fabric softener, while *wearing them*! Then we would go outside and let them dry on us, and they would shrink to fit our bodies perfectly
The downside? blue legs
