YOur in the wrong world.The Indian team nbever won the World cup of football.It only qualified in 1950 or something but we werent allowed to play because we played barefoot!

The Indian football team has never won the world cup. In 1951 they qualified for the FIFA World Cup but could not proceed further in the tournament due to absence of Sponsors

Starvation, over-population and poor infrastructure never stopped a country winning the World Cup - look at Brazil. But what's needed is a fundamental cultural shift - people filling stadiums to watch games, kids playing it in the street, the sport filling the newspapers, and India doesn't have that right now. Until it does, then it won't get a pool of players and a talent base big enough to give them a good side to challenge.

tats a nice question i dont think that indians even have the urge to play i personally feel tat severy small club in india should have a football team and these should play against each other and which ever team wins a player from tat team should be put in indian football team .

prepare Indian football squad ready to play well in the qualifying match. then after it wins the qualifier and comes as one of the best asian nations, will get chance to enter world cup.
about when, its real hard to predict. Indians live for cricket, eat cricket, sleep cricket i think it will still take plenty years ahead for India to live football, eat football & sleep football.

i think you are making fun of indian football team ????? really .it seems to be a dream to win a world cup.at present time india is not qualified as team in world cup.it would be able to qualified in 3007,then what to think of wininig world cup.

I think "if" should be the question, not "when" or "how". Probably after taking care of their other problems, more important than the world cup, like starvation and over-population, and their faulty railroads.
