Just want to know what the common person's idea is about true love.

I would hate to know what the "common" person's idea of true love is. It might have obscene words associated with it. I think that most people have no idea what true love and commitment means. Finding the words to express it would depend completely on the two people. Some people feel great love, but do not have the proper vocabulary or eloquence to describe it. Others may have all kinds of fancy words and poetic flourishes, but with no true emotion or feeling behind the words. I also think "True Love" is not an everyday occurance. More likely, it is love that grows and develops over time and trial. Love is something that can only be as true as the two people who are in the relationship. It waxes and wanes. True love could be expressed with silence or it could be expressed by the words, "Honey, I will get up with the baby this time so you can get some sleep." True love is selflessness while maintaining a sense of self. It is the trickiest balancing act in the world. It is about forgiveness and boundaries and giving and taking. It is at times the easiest thing to feel and the most difficult. It is like the tide. It is different and the same.

I don't like the being referred to as a common person. I take offense to that expression. I believe True Love MUST be expressed in both words and feelings.

Unless of course you can read the other persons mind, which is impossible.

Well, having been married for 36 years to a very sexy, intelligent woman, and being an English Lit. scholar, I say that you certainly CAN express true love with words.

Naturally, it takes MORE than words. Actions would be nice, but people have been expressing their deep love and emotions for centuries through words; both verbal and written.

I agree. And I disagree. It is not only love that is hard to express. How do you tell someone you are sorry when someone they love dies? Words just sometimes aren't enough!

You have to show in deeds and doings how much you love someone. The little things like messages in his lunch, or candlelight dinners. You SHOW your love, but you also express it in words as much as you can.

You are so right--there are no words to express true love-it is simply there. Sharing true love is turning two souls into one whole intimately-a feeling only shared rarely like owning the universe with just the two of you there.

I had the same problem and that i ruined all of it with information from mirroring my ideal acquaintances recommendations-set and feeling awkward about it... My ideal suggestion for you is to purely to search for suggestion from from him and ask him what he needs the subsequent step to be. it is obvious you want a relationship with him, however that's too a lot for him at this element...you should also placed across to him that you do not favor this to intervene such as your dazzling friendship and agree that no count number number what occurs you 2 will be acquaintances...yet flow in this realistically, information how confusing that's to recapture that frienship once you're in a relationship with him. it would want to both flow horribly or be the most incredible relationship you have ever had often times taking that probability is the demanding section, the prospect that that's awkward or it may in good structure completely Sorry i'm able to't be better help! solid success -Britt

i think true love is not only felt, it is expressed in many ways to be felt. Words affirm the 'gut feel' of the other person and is an expression of courage to say truth..

I think love can be expressed in words to a certain degree but not completely. That's just my opinion.

I agree, I once tried to tell someone who I loved very much examples of how I loved them, but found out it was unexplainable, my love was speechless, i told them that my love was more than words can say, that I can only show him and that it was unconditional, because each and every day I loved him more than yesterday. It wasnt infatuation, because I still love him and this was 7 years ago.
