We all did a little hellraising when we were 18, but I think the problem is that kids nowadays don't know how to have fun. Their idea is getting drunk (whether of legal age or not) and jumping behind a wheel and racing or playing chicken. Where's the fun in that? Death isn't fun.
But I will also blame the powers that be in my country and especially my city. When I was younger, there were places we could go to hang out and have fun and now, they have closed all of them down and there is nowhere for the kids to have fun. Boredom leads to trouble.

Society has to demand that the law gets tough on these people. Personally I have no problem with people taking any kind of drugs or killing themselves but attacking people and destroying property not belonging to them is another matter.
All to often we use the excuse that the person was not responsible but it was drugs (alcohol included as that is also a drug, a fact some people and mainly the government often overlook) that caused it. People have to take responsibility for their actions.

I remember when i was 18 and used to have a Porche that i raced illegaly... Never got high or drunk or caused riots.... usually if we got busted by the police... at least my crew.... could out run those police cars no problem, i mean they are Crown Victorias... not that difficult. but I dont see where street racing and Riots go together... thats stupid and police should be more on there toes about this....

The greatest thing about being human, (and the worse), is the power to choose. Each individual is responsible for their own choices. Therefore, whether "things" get better, or worse is up to each individual to decide. One can be part of solution or part of problem. Once each individual becomes conscious that everything they think, say and do is creating emotions, events, consequences...they may choose to create better end results...or not!

Society changes with every generation, some for the good some for the bad,
sad to know young people are more violent than ever before & drinking has never been a positive thing for anyone who doesn't know how to handle it..

It is getting worse.
My neice, who has a lot of medical probs, is going into high school next yr. in Pennsylvania. I have heard that this school is pretty tough.. lots of fights, boys knocking the girls to the floor for know particular reasons. She has had many back and leg surgeries, and cannot be treated like this, I am concerned for her safety.

the younger generation is subject to softer if any penalties for their actions and so are more likely to try things we wouldn't dream of at that age due to the fact that you knew if you did it and got caught that would be it
