No America has not won in Afghanistan. They will never win. They need the pipeline put in and they need the fine Afghan heroine to bring back home to keep their lower class, black & hispanic population suppressed.

It's not he Taliban they are fighting, these are guerrilla fighters that fought the Soviets when they invaded. Basically warlords. The media/govt. loves the Taliban because otherwise there would no reason for NATO troops to occupy Afghanistan. The Taliban no longer is in power or has any support.

What the media is telling is misrepresenting what is acutally happening there.

I do not hear anyone saying we have won anything. We are still engaged in that country. We achieved our primary goal which was to remove the Taliban from power. Fighting the forces of evil is a never ending job and where terrorism is concerned it is not a simple matter of removing a government. This is a war on terror and frankly it may never be won, but these animals cannot be allowed to act with impunity. This situation has been allowed for too long. There must be consequences for actions.

Because we are still trying to fight a PC war.The Taliban draw money, arm and sanctuary from the towns along the Pakistan border that are also Taliban.Until we either dump the PC crap and get serious or a miracle happens and Pakistan deals with these people we are at an impasse.

What's a Taliban? Ah, my British friend, I think you were not enlightened as to our mission in Afghanistan. Called 'Operation Poppy Seed' the true mission was to increase heroin production, drive down the cost, and steal clientele from those nasty South Americans and their cocaine.Like the man said " Mission Accomplished..."

Actually the war in Afghanistan is a UN project, and yes the Taliban has had their shinning moments but what do you expect of men who dress like women to avoid capture, use women as human shields and can't fight in a hand to hand conventional war, they cannot even fight like real men.

Firstly, its not about the taliban, its about an oil pipeline running
through afghanistan.the british and nato are killing the taliban
on mass not the other way round. So if the americans think
they have won, its because they have secured the pipeline
which was the US goal afterall. So in americas eyes they
have done what they set out to do.

The Americans don't think they have won yet, they are still fighting with all the other troops. However, if the brits want to be treated better by the locals, perhaps they should take a few lessons from the canucks, andmake friends with the village and town elders.
