A boy does not become gay. He is.
He may avoid acting on this orientation, by celibacy (probably the best way), or by entering into a hetero relationship, which would be deceiving his partner and denying his true orientation.
Or he can live his life the best way he can as a good person.

Less "becomes" and more "is." People are born the way they are; life doesn't change them. There are certain characteristics that you will carry on throughout life, even if you yourself change. Such as a child who is shy will probably be shy for the rest of his or her life. Many people who are gay can trace the fact that they didn't see girls or boys the same way as other people did as early as elementary school (or at least when they started developing the idea that girls and boys are different/have cooties).
