In ''The Diary of Anne Frank,'' why did Anne look startled after Peter kissed her?

I seen the movie released in 1959, I did my homework and took notes on the movie, and I am not talking about the book.

Back during the time of WWII, I would say that it wasn't like it is today...Boys taking the assumption that they needed to kiss a girl would most likely shock her. Especially a girl of the Jewish faith. The dating process was most likely a chaperoned affair and that kiss wasn't expected.

Could it be that she had never been kissed by a boy.
