Ravi, you know what. Every time any question related to Saddam's execution is brought up, you would see all these americans coming in support of their moronic president named Bush.

Just read the editorial page in the Hindu for an unbiased views regarding the trial and US protectionism on their citizens when it came to prosecuting Bush and Blair by a future Iraqi goverment. i.e., Americans, who all along encouraged Saddam with their own weapons for Saddam to do what he did, then turned around to finish Saddam off. No matter what the americans say, it was the american hand that killed Saddam. Please tell me, why was Saddam was handed over for the few minutes that was needed to hang him, why did they take his body ? What was the use of the caretaker government if they cannot even enquire Saddam about the american involvement in the early 80s and punish those americans as well.

The whole issue known to every one to be a SHAM (except the americans who still believe they have done a great job). Yeah right, the american's invade Iraq with the intention of finding Nuclear Weapons. Instead, the find and kill Saddam, Had this been the stated motive for the war on Iraq, imagine the hue and cry from every one. The americans staged a drama here.

Just ask yourself WHY ? Saddam had nothing to do with Nuclear weapons nor did he have any ties with the Al-Queda. So why pick on him. It was a personal vendetta from a spineless US president - who himself quite so bravely hid in the bunkers of AZ/NV during 9/11 - promised to smoke Osama out of his hole. It has been 4+ years, yet Osama is nowhere in sight.

Saddam's hanging is a pyrrhic victory for the Americans.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with hanging, but either way you look at it, an execution is an execution. This guy tortured people in a way most men would never do. Hanging was the closest way of giving him the same death. Saddam requested no hood, and by his wish as ex-president, it should be carried out that way.

Iraqis executed Saddam not the US. Was it done right? Is execution right? Im against the death penatly so if he would have been in the United States I would not have supported it but he wasnt. He was in the hands of the Iraqi goverment and they seem to love killing people.

No, death penalty is never right. It's unethical, it's barbaric, and it is the easy way out.
Though, death by hanging is probably one of the more humane ways of doing, if it is done right and the neck is broken. It is fast and without pain, as opposed to when injecting poison and the executed can lay there for 20 minutes just waiting to die, with people watching as if it were a circus...
The most humane way would be decapitation - you're pretty much dead right away - we just think it's more barbaric because of the blood...

First , in Christian terms , it shouldn't have take place any execution at all.
Jesus , God and son of the God The Father sent on the Earth ''to save the world not to judge it''-so , Jesus actually has abolished the punishmeant with death , and the punishment with jail , asked us to love our enemy and to forgive if we want to be forgiven .Because Jesus intended to make the world evolve in reason , love and counsciosness.

Tolstoi has shown in ''God sees the truth but awaits ''that someone who legally must never go to jail , could actually deserve jail much more then someone who was condemned to jail.

no it was totally wrong coz if the case would have reached international courtb of justice it would have taken time and saddam would have turned 70 after 6 months and no person can be executed who is 70 or above.

ofcourse, the death of a man who was responsible for the deaths of thousands is fair.
Saddam killed 140 persons in Iraq.. so he definately deserves this punishment...
but Mr. Bush killed more than 1,40,000 innocent people in Afghanistan.. what punishment does he deserve then??
Saddam got his punishment.. ok.. accepted
but still Bush is enjoying himself...THINK...

it was not fair for the united states to just come in and sentence him to death like that. he was not given a fair trial. and there was no legitimate reason given.

do u think what Bush did was right? he killed sooooooooooo many people in afghanisthan...If Bush had killed members of your family, would you think it would be fair then? ofcourse not!!
so the final fact is... saddam has his fault.. so he was punished.. and Bush also has his fault.. but is it fair for him to enjoy himself still...

BEING ONE OF THE YAHOO ANSWER WE SHOULD BE GENUINE BY ALL THE ANSWER WHICH WE GIVE. IT WAS VERY CLEAR THAT THE COURT WHICH HAS DECIDED DEATH PLENTY FOR SUDDAM WAS NOT AN INDEPENDENT COURT IT WAS UNDER THE PRESSURE OF USA'S GOVERNMENT. !!

No execution (of human being) is fair.

It was too fast. he should have been tried by an International court like the HAYA court or something like that.

Hanging of a General, for vicious reasons, or grudge, without any fair trial, most unfair.lowest and most inhuman act of a coward. Bush.

Why is everybody picking on poor SADDAM?

no one's execution is fair,(Saddam for example) but Bush, he is UNFORGIVABLE!!!hope he dies in an ugly box someday to end this unnecessary war between USA and Iraq.

People all think differently. it wasn't really fair becuase if Saddam was hanged because he was a murderur then many other leaders should be executed. (The person i'm talking about is still alive and is STILL killing a trilion people everyday. U know who!)

THIS WAS NOT A RIGHT DECISION

ofcourse he kills many people...but did u go to afghan and saw him hiding the terrorist in his country?????ofcourse his life is not enough for all the death of kurds people and all what he have done in iraq......but is Mr.Bush's life enough for all the death of kurds of Afghanistan... nearly 1,40,000 innocents were killed in Afghan for no reason by Mr.Bush... look at Afghan right now it is all Mr.Bush's fault!!!!!

Absolutely not right, most Unfair!!!

it doesn't matter now, since it has been done by the Iraqi government. I think if it had been done any other way than in secret, it would have caused world wide riots and terrorism. By the time they found out about his death, it was too late for anyone planning to do harm to act

I think they should have used a method employed by the Japanese in WWII in that you shove a glass rod up his behind and then break it up. It's hard to imagine what the first 'dump' must feel like not too mention once the infection sets in.
