Destiny is the purpose in life that God has in mind for you|

Fate is the malicious illusion that the devil puts in your mind that you cannot avoid a given evil|

Free-will is the choices we make that determine if our destiny will be fulfilled - will we take courage and press on or take the easy way out and give up?

Destiny: the false assumption that things were meant to be and that an ulitmate purpose may be in store for a person.

Fate: is similar to destiny and relates to the pre-determined or pre-ordained path that life will take you.

Free Will: the common sense that there's no pre-determination in the Universe....that the next step you take this afternoon was not determined at the onset of the big bang.

If you do not want to accept that what is happening to you is the result of all your free will choices, then you would believe it to be fate or destiny.

Majority of us, however, accept the handiwork of our choices in the case of success and pass on to the fate or destiny for the rest of the happenings!

What we choose according to our freewill creates our future, which we normal categorize as fate or destiny.

Though in the truest sense we only get to experience what or who we really are.

If we are at peace now, we shall only those experiences which reflect our inner being.

And if we are at war with ourselves we shall definitely experience that.

So the point of empowerment is always realizing or knowing thy self, so that being at peace with ourselves we can create better experiences for ourselves. Experiences of peace and of love.

Once we have created our future, how we respond to it, creates our destiny further ahead, and as always our greater destiny is empowerment of the self, or simply put realizing the empowered self in us.

According to our past choices, certain experiences are fated to be experienced by us, but then depending on how we respond to them creates our greater destiny. We might we use them to catapult ourselves into it or allow them to overwhelm us.

Every harsh experience or hardship is therefore we a gift of wisdom and empowerment from the Universe to help us realize our potential and our destiny.

No difference at all, unless you accept that time is sequential.
If, on the other hand, you accept Einstein's thesis that everything is, in fact, happening at the same time (his "infinity point"), then Calvin and Arminius had no disagreement at all !
