There aren't really many bars around the Marble Arch area. Soho / Covent Garden is better for bars and it is not that far (half hour walk or 5 minutes in a cab or night bus). Go down Wardour Street and there are literally hundreds of bars. There are some on Shaftesbury Avenue, Charing Cross Road and leading down to Leicester Square and Covent Garden. There are far too many to list. Why not try one of the london websites for places to go. Try www.viewlondon.co.uk or www.londonnet.co.uk or www.worldsbestbars.com and click on London and the area you want to visit.

All Bar One has branches all over the city - particularly good for women as the company was started up by women who wanted a place to go and feel comfortable and safe by themselves...
There are usually branches near stations - there's a nice one by London Bridge, another on Charing Cross Road and a really lovely one just behind the London Eye which I totally recommend.
Otherwise, if you're into shots and vodka drinking, try Garlic and Shots in Soho - a fantastic night out!

Soho has some brilliant bars, in and around the Old Compton Street area and up to Covent Garden. Towards Picadilly, things get a little seedier.
For something upmarket, try Claridge's Bar (no denim) at Claridge's hotel. They have a table service with many well blended cocktails for about £12. Pricey, but you are in five star surroundings.

Go to Heddon Street which is just off Regent Street in Piccadilly
It has some great bars including the living room and the absolut ice bar - definitely worth a visit if only for the novelty factor of a bar made of ice, being given a parka and mittens to wear when you are in there and drinking cocktails from blocks of ice!
