When you feel absolutely nothing for the person. That is the opposite of love. That is what I have been told. Hate and Love are such strong emotions the opposite is no emotion. It helped me through a breakup once.

Well like most questions of this nature you have to define the word first. Love has many definitions so this question has many answers.

For a simple answer I would agree with most people who have already answered and say hate although for some reason a lot of people are giving this answer a thumbs down.
The arguement that the opposite of love is no emotion is compelling but would that not mean that the opposite of no emotion is love when love is simply one of many emotions? You were after all specifically asking about the emotion of love. That arguement might be silly but so is arguing over a question that has many different (and possibly truthful) answers.
