Skype offers free calls between any two people that are online at the same time. Free. Of course you still incur any costs that you normally do to get on the net: your computer and your internet connection fee. You will also need a sound card and a microphone-headset.

I haven't used it since I am cursed to a life of dial up (I live out in the country cable and DSL are not available and Satellite is way to expensive); but my sister and brother use Skype. I think it costs if you call someone who is not using it and is free if the other party also uses it. He lives in Japan and she and I live in the US. Don't quote me on it though.

skype is good way to call but its not totally free when you call on any land line or mobile
