I married my best friend and we have a great relationship. In a relationship it is important to be good friends and to like each other as well as love each other. Why not date your best friend. Who knows you better? Who would you rather spend time with? If you are like me the answer was obvious. I enjoyed spending time with her more than anyone else and we always got along so well and had so much in common. Being friends first really makes for a great relationship and a lot of good times. Go for it. You already have an open line of communication and a good understanding of each other. You are starting out with more than most couples.

Not if you value the friendship highly. Dating your best friend and then breaking up with them is extremely painful, because you A. You've lost a lover, and B. You don't have a best friend there to talk about it. Start out FWB's (Friends with benefits) first, and if you both feel like you're emotionally ready to take it to the exclusive level, do it. But agree to stay friends, no matter the outcome of your romantic relationship.

All depends. Sometimes will work and sometimes it won't. I've a bestfriend for 20 years bow, and I can say that our friendship is more and better this way if we been married.
